Two PATROLTERM stainless-steel terminals are fixed to the structure (roof, facade, or steelwork) at each end of the run, and the 16 m Ø8 mm 7x7 stainless steel cable is threaded between them. The SPEAR tensioner-absorber unit — combining a spring-loaded tensioning function with an energy dissipater — is fitted at one end, allowing quick manual tensioning without crimping tools or heavy machinery, while automatically taking up thermal expansion/contraction of the cable across seasons. A mobile fall-arrest device then runs freely along the cable, letting the worker move continuously across the full span while staying attached. The system is designed for visual, tool-free inspection and retensioning, with a recommended check every 12 months after first installation.
Certifications : Kit components tested and certified under EN 795:2012 Type C (flexible horizontal anchor line system) and UNI 11578:2015 Type C, the reference European/Italian standards for the PATROL horizontal lifeline range; the wider PATROL system is additionally validated against CEN/TS 16415:2013 and the Australian/New Zealand standards AS/NZS 1891.2:2001 and AS/NZS 1891.4:2009. CE marking is declared via Rothoblaas's Declaration of Conformity (available in multiple languages) under the EU PPE Regulation 2016/425.
