BTS Tech mobile davit arms, access stairs, confined space tripods and self-retracting lifelines for work at height and confined spaces.
The BTS AirHook Lite, complete with a self-retracting lifeline, provides sites with an overhead anchorage point that can be moved from application to application where no overhead structure exists or is reachable. Its counter-weighted base (internal concrete and steel counterweights) integrates forklift tine pockets and pallet-jack pockets for easy repositioning. The mast is height-adjustable from 5.0 m to 7.5 m with an offset reach of approximately 3.0 m, and a built-in visual overload fall indicator flags abnormal loading. Tested, certified and meeting Australian Standard requirements AS/NZS1891.4 and AS/NZS5532, it suits earth-moving machinery, highway trucks, generators and truck loading/unloading in distribution facilities.
Typical use : Mobile overhead anchor for loading/unloading flatbed trucks in a warehouse or industrial yard, or for occasional maintenance work on top of heavy machinery where no fixed anchor point exists.
The BTS AirStair is a free-standing access stair system with cordless push-button electric height adjustment, originally developed for aviation maintenance and now widely used in marine, shipbuilding, defence and heavy industry. Workers are secured to an active fall arrest system from the very first step via a dual-user self-retracting lifeline (SRL), whose arms can be fixed in place or follow the worker to reduce pendulum-swing fall risk. It features 750 mm open anti-contaminant aluminium stair treads, stabilising jacks and adjustable outriggers, an independent counter-weighted base, and a 30V lithium battery electric motor with a self-locking mechanical safety system that locks at any height. Two adjustable models are available: the 703357 (platform height 3.3-5.7 m) and the 704884 (4.8-8.4 m).
Typical use : Safe elevated access for aircraft engine maintenance, ship superstructure work, or industrial equipment servicing on metal-deck/steel-roof structures, with built-in fall protection for one or two operators.
The BTS AirDavit is a permanently fixed articulated overhead fall arrest anchor providing fall protection for up to two workers, depending on single- or twin-arm configuration. Its articulating arm positions the anchor point directly overhead, reducing pendulum-swing injury risk and worker fatigue, while a built-in in-line energy absorber limits arrest forces transmitted to the supporting structure. With an anchor height of approximately 5.7 m and a 3.0 m offset, it provides 360° protection and a safe working zone of up to 10.5 m via rotational arms that can wrap around the post. Built from 6061-T6 aluminium and hot-dip galvanised steel, it installs on concrete slabs as thin as 150 mm using 8x M16 anchor bolts with no welding required, and is certified to AS/NZS5532:2013, EN795:2012, ANSI Z359.18:2017 and OSHA.
Typical use : Permanent fixed anchor for truck loading/unloading or work on industrial platforms, indoors or outdoors, under a metal-deck or steel-roof structure.
The BTS PRO-3 Tripod (part no. 40014) is essential equipment for confined space entry, rescue and fall arrest applications (manholes, tanks, pits). Its individually adjustable telescopic legs, fitted with toe spikes and bolt/peg/chain holes, provide maximum stability, while the BTS-Klick dual-action quick-release buttons allow fast, reliable height adjustment. The tripod head integrates a centre pulley wheel for winch cable pass-through and 3 additional rated tie-off points for personal fall protection equipment. Built from lightweight aluminium and supplied in a wheeled canvas storage bag, it is assembled by one person in minutes and is tested and certified to AS/NZS5532-2013.
Typical use : Confined space entry and rescue (manholes, storage tanks, technical pits) with a man/material rescue winch mounted on the tripod head.
The BTS ISO Container Static Line is the ideal solution for up to two workers needing to work safely on top of ISO containers. This fall restraint system sets up in minutes and provides continuous, unrestricted travel for 2 workers, with all lightweight components installable from a platform ladder by a single person without needing to access the container roof. Manufactured from high-quality stainless steel, it suits both temporary and permanent installations, with the static line centred on the container to allow work on all sides. Available in 20 ft (LIFELINEKIT2-20) and 40 ft (LIFELINEKIT2-40) versions, supplied with knuckle-lock hooks, wire rope run kit, user connection kit and fall restraint lanyard.
Typical use : Safe work on top of ISO shipping containers (inspection, lashing, maintenance) at a port terminal or logistics yard, for one or two operators.
The IKAR self-retracting lifelines with self-rescue, distributed by BTS, are designed for applications where rescue is required to reduce the risk of suspension trauma in a fallen worker. In the event of a fall, the internal brakes activate as with a traditional SRL and arrest the fall; once the fall is fully arrested, the self-rescue unit automatically extends the steel wire rope and lowers the person to the ground or another suitable landing. The IKAR HAS-9TA, HAS-18TA and HAS-30TA range is certified to EN 341:2011/1C and EN 360:2002, featuring an aluminium housing, galvanised steel cable of Ø4.8 mm, nominal load of 136 kg (100 kg on the HAS-30), and maximum descent speed of 0.5 m/s, for one person.
Typical use : Fall protection with autonomous self-rescue lowering in areas where third-party rescue is not possible or would be hazardous (fire or explosion risk).
The elebia automatic crane hooks, distributed by BTS Tech, hook on and release the load remotely, increasing the safety, productivity and comfort of all lifting operations. A magnetic field generated by 32 neodymium permanent magnets attracts, centres and orients the sling or masterlink, after which the operator closes the hook remotely with a single button press on the remote control, without any manual handling of the load. The evo range spans from the evo2 (2.5 t, 7 kg) up to the evo25 (25 t), with a fail-safe design that makes it impossible to drop a suspended load placed incorrectly, plus optional position encoder, integrated weighing scale, and reinforced versions for marine, ATEX/IECEx or high-temperature environments. The hooks carry CE marking, DNV 2.22 certification (evo5/evo10/evo20) and comply with European machinery and EMC directives.
Typical use : Remote lifting and unloading of heavy loads (steelworks, ports, industrial sites) without the operator needing to approach the suspended load to hook or release it.
The BTS AirStep (Engine Cowl Maintenance Ladder, models BTS7565 and BTS7565-XL) is designed to secure work-at-height activity around aircraft engines. Its wide-ranging height and angle adjustment allows the ladder to be positioned close to the engine to cover a greater work area with both open and closed engine cowls, with built-in fall protection via an SRL from ground level and additional work-positioning anchor points via restraint straps. Compatible with Trent, General Electric, Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce engines across Airbus, Boeing and other aircraft models, it is built from 6061-T6 aluminium and steel to stay lightweight, featuring anti-slip step rungs, heavily padded bumpers, a double-locking assembly against accidental movement, and braked swivel castors with outrigger stabilising jacks. Designed, tested and certified to AS1892.1, AS5532 and EN ISO 14122.
Typical use : Secure access for engine cowl maintenance and pylon disconnect zones on wide-body aircraft, in an aviation maintenance hangar or on the tarmac.
